Statistics

The latest summary of data from DIER is included in the attachments. It contains only information that has been 'officially' reported.

Our Incident Reporting system will hopefully fill in some gaps and help us identify what needs improving before injuries occur. Here is a summary of information from the system so far.

If you have had an accident or incident don't forget to tell us about it so we can build a better picture of what's going on in your area.

The key points from the data are,
  • Injury rate is steady at about 50 a year
  • 30% of injuries happen to the <20 year age group
  • Pedestrians have over twice as many injuries (but there are more of them)

Bicycle Casualty (fatal & injury) crashes in Tasmania for the period 2005 to Jul-2011
