The Bike Track Idea:
"Since this is only a proposal there is no web site as yet, however there is a grouundswell of interest from all areas of community, such as the Mayor of Break O; Day Council through to the North East Rail Trail commitee.
This event is to give further inpetus to the proposal and to inform others.
The intention is to provide a walking/ bike track as far down the East Coast, as possible and developed over time, beginning at Scamander or perhaps St.Helens. Land which is presently inaccessible will be able to be enjoyed by all."
"SATURDAY 15th September: 11.00 Depart from St. Marys at Sports Ground.
Experienced riders travel down Elephant Pass and continue to Scamander.
Other riders travel down St.Marys Pass and continue to Scamander.
FINISH at Scamander Sanctuary Caravan Park
SUNDAY 16th September: 11.00 Depart Scamander to Bicheno.
FINISH at the Bicheno Sea Life Centre
Elaine Sullivan at the Purple Possum Wholefoods and Cafe, 5 Story St, St Marys, will greet anyone on the day with open arms She will issue people with the course maps and be on hand to assist in any way, along with others.
